There have been varying reports on whether football participation has been affected by years of reporting on concussions, and their-long term impact on players. Today, the Journal of the American Medical Association has posted results of a study regarding the prevalence of chronic traumatic encephalopathy, better known by its abbreviation CTE, that is going to give a lot of parents pause about whether their kids should play football -- and maybe give a lot of people pause about whether they should enjoy watching it.

Last week, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) issued a rule prohibiting banks, credit-card companies, and other financial institutions from including mandatory arbitration clauses in new contracts. The CFPB claims to have struck a blow for consumer rights, but the truth is, this rule will be a boon to frivolous lawsuits—and a drag on our economy.

Looking to head off more criticism of its TV ratings as viewing patterns continue to shift, Nielsen has decided to add programming from Hulu and YouTube skinny bundles to its overall TV ratings.

Today’s move is an acknowledgment of what execs in the programming and advertising trenches have known for years now: Viewers are migrating away from the traditional linear TV experience as digital options proliferate.

US Home Prices Rise Less Than Expected In April [0.03]

New data released today for May shows that U.S. home prices continued their rise across the country over the last 12 months, but the growth was less than analysts had predicted.

The S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller U.S. National Home Price NSA Index, covering all nine U.S. census divisions, reported a 5.6% annual gain in May, the same as the prior month.

In the summer of 2008, I attended the SeedCamp in London and the winner of that class was a company called Zemanta, out of Ljubljana Slovenia.
