International art and tech event series, Art Hack Day, is coming to St. Louis, August 17-19.

The event is now giving St. Louis, an emerging tech and art hub, a chance to come together and receive international exposure.

Kansas City-based technology company Red Nova Labs (RNL) has expanded their engineering team to include a second office in Denver.

But RNL isn’t looking to ditch their Kansas City roots anytime soon.

AIM HDC (Heartland Developers Conference) is a 3-day software development event on September 6-8, 2017 for tech professionals, consisting of hands-on workshops, keynotes and other speakers, breakout sessions and networking events. Last November, SPN profiled Phynd Technologies, a healthcare data management startup based in Dallas and Kearney, Nebraska.

Last quarter, Phynd launched a consumer-facing module called Phynd a Doc that leverages the integrated provider database with search functionality.

Last week’s 5th annual NMotion Demo Day at the Rococo Theater in Lincoln was a thrilling introduction to the 5 startups that just completed the 100 day accelerator program.

The evening began with an intro from NMotion Managing Director Beth McKeon and a thanks to representatives from startup heavy-hitters Hudl, Zilliow, Nelnet, Opendorse and Bulu Box for participating in the programming.

PowerPost, an automated marketing software company headquartered out of St. Louis, announced last week that it had acquired Social Media Beast, one of Chicago, Illinois’ premier content marketing agencies.

The acquisition is the third large transaction for PowerPost within the last 18 months and will add nearly 100 new clients to PowerPost, in addition to increasing their pool of brand journalists and content writers.

Farmers have to be as efficient as possible, to help compensate for the things that are harder to control. The Sunnydale, CA., startup WISRAN is looking to boost efficiency for farmers 2-5 percent and is part of the inaugural cohort for the Iowa Agritech Accelerator.

MultiMechanics, an Omaha startup and leading developer of virtual testing software designed to help companies reduce physical prototyping and testing, has announced it raised $1.9 million in new financing, with investments from Solvay Ventures, Anzu Partners, and Invest Nebraska.
